I was fortunate enough to gain employment with Troppo Architects (QLD),
Australia’s 3rd most awarded architectural practice. Troppo has six
offices across Australia and is recognized both locally and
internationally for their response to climate, place and sensitivity to
the environment.
Working as part of a fairly small, and relatively young team has
allowed me the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the design and
administration process for a wide range of projects, and even take on a
senior role in some instances. I am currently working as project architect
on a number of residential projects and assisting with the coordination of
some larger, more complex projects.
The “Troppo” attitude: It would be fair to say that our appearance
exemplifies our attitude towards architecture. Our work uniform consists
of shorts, t-shirt and double pluggers – image and ego is not what we’re
about – responding intelligently to the climate and the lifestyle of the
tropics certainly is!
